La Hune - Bookworms' Paradise

La Hune 170
Boulevard Saint-Germain
75006 Paris

6th Arrondissement
Metro : St-Germain-des-Prés

La Hune bookstore is a treasure !! It is one of my favorites and a quintessential bookstore in Paris. This world famous bookstore on Boulevard St Germain is next door to the Café de Flore and Les Deux Magots. The prestige of these cafes is enhanced by this excellent (French) bookshop specializing in art publications.

La Hune bookstore is part of the history of Saint-Germain des Prés. It is in the writers' and publishers' district where Max Ernst, André Breton, poet Henri Michaux as well as hundreds of other artists through the decades hang out.

It has every kind of literature: poetry, short stories, novels, biographies and more. The ground floor has all the classics, as well as new books on display, while the first floor has a fine arts section. And don’t miss the art books on the Mezzanine !!

But be careful all you bookworms, drawn in by its pristine and modern décor, you are likely to want to stay all day not to mention a good part of the night. Fortunately La Hune doesn't close until nearly midnight (Yeah.. unlike Kino !!), and they open on Sundays too.
