Located next door to another popular hangout, Café de Flore, Les Deux Magots is a famous café in the intellectual-chic quarters of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, on the Left Bank of the Seine. Like its celebrated rival Café de Flore, Les Deux Magots can claim to have been the heart of the Existentialist Movement during the early part of this century.

Its legendary terrace was the meeting-point for great writers and thinkers staying in Paris. Particularly the Surrealists, lead by André Breton preferred this café. It therefore inspires creativity and is great for people-watching. Its no wonder that Paris' best bookshop set up shop next door.
