St Germain-des-Prés - Boulevard Saint-Germain
The Boulevard of St Germain, is a major street in Paris on the Left Bank (south side) of the Seine river. It is the sixth district of Paris. The St Germain-des-Prés is best known as the home of the Latin Quarter, the students' district and for its reputation as a magnet for artists, as the district was a bohemian hangout and center of intellectualism and existentialism movement after World War II.
Now, the neighborhood is famous for its artsy movie theaters, street-side cafes (home to a number of famous cafés, such as Les Deux Magots and Café de Flore) and the influx of students from the nearby universities, which adds to the already vibrant atmosphere of the area. The Boulevard is today a thriving high-end shopping street with stores from Armani, Rykiel and Louis Vuitton. It is also the home to the World famous Bookshop - La Hune .
